Is SING easy to use?
Yes, just plug it in to your TV, stereo, or data projector – anything with audio or video RCA sockets. The better your stereo, the better the sound will be.
What else do you need?
A TV with VCR or DVD sockets, and if you want better sound we recommend that you connect the audio red/white plugs to a stereo as well, even a surround sound.
NOTE THAT SOME OF THE GREAT NEW TVS HAVE VERY WEAK SPEAKERS WITH GREAT VIDEO – SO YOU BEST USE A STEREO OR AMP FOR THE SINGING.
ALSO SOME OF THE NEW PLASMAS/LCD TVS AND ALSO SYSTEMS GOING THROUGH A VCR MAY DAMPEN THE MUSIC LEVEL WHEN YOU SING – SO USE A STEREO!
Can the sound be adjusted?
Yes – and independently you can move the key up or down (13 settings of each).
The melody function adds a synthesiser sound if you do not know the track so well
How can I change the “electronic” sound on the karaoke?
Go to the function button. There are 6 functions there.
Use “Melody” – it can be turned right down to reduce the electronic sound.
Does this have background vocals?
No, SING has only a karaoke version of the music and no vocals as it is a digital system. This is why we can fit up to 6000 songs on the mic as opposed to a DVD with 10-25 songs only.
Can I use SING Karaoke outside NZ and Australia?
Yes, SING will work with any TV system, PAL or NTSC. Just ensure that the voltage is adjusted with an adaptor as with any electronic appliance outside Australia or NZ, eg: if you are in the USA with 110 volts vs 220/240 volts in NZ.
You may need to go to SYSTEM SELECT (SYS SEL) to adjust between the NTSC and PAL systems. In NZ it should be in PAL mode.
How do I get back up service?
There is a 12 month warranty for repair if a mechanical fault arises. Any problems in or outside 12 months you MUST please email, call, or text and await our reply before sending any item back for repair or replacement. If you do not do this we cannot take responsibility for the item if it fails to arrive.
The most frequent problem for users is the RCA cord (excluding the power plug section) wearing out through keen usage! If so, this can be replaced, and is $75 (or $50 for cord without plug) if outside warranty period.
Is SING wireless?
Main mic is wired; it must always plug into the TV (or a portable DVD). Can be on mains power, 2nd mic is wireless. If you have the second mic you can use this as your main mic as long as the main mic is attached. Mk6 are only made with 1 mic now, unfortunately.
Do I use batteries? – ANSWER – DON’T
NEVER use batteries with the main mic, although there is a battery slot!
This can freeze the mic. Only use batteries when you are not using mains power, eg: if you are camping in an isolated area!
With the second wireless mic you MUST use 2 x AA batteries. To save money we suggest you buy rechargeable batteries and a charger.
